The movie started from where Kirk and his crew member is in a planet, wandering. Kirk and Bones are been chasing by the aliens, to make it stop, they post their sacred scroll along the way for the aliens will worship it. They rushed through the cliff and jump into the ocean where there ship lies. In the other side, Spock will enter the active volcano that will erupt so soon and he will make it stop. But they are having difficulties then, because the surface is so hot and the small ship can't hold on, so they have left Spock inside the volcano. Spock decided to just die inside there because of the difficulties and to save the planet. But Kirk did't mind it and saved him through their teleportation. The planet was saved and the inhabitants worship now their ship. After that mission, Kirk was scolded by their master, because of the danger he went to. The danger that Spock nearly died, and their ship was seen by the inhabitants, where there mission is to just study the planet. Another scene is there is a family where a star trek member has a daughter nearly dying, someone talked to him and said that he could help him. The man accepted the deal, inject the blood into her daughter and it really worked. And the exchange for that is to put the ring the mysterious man gave to him into water inside the star trek building. The man did it and the building exploded in just seconds. The other Star Trek talked about it and before they finished discussion they were attacked by this man riding a flying vehicle attacking them through the window. Kirk and his crew decided to go after him after they know its location, Kronos. They went there but only Kirk, Spock and Uhura go inside of the planet, they were chased and captured. The film has some cliché moments which can't be avoided often with a film this scale however they make use of them well and still pack plenty of surprises. As well as this, despite not being a proper Trekkie myself, some moments gave me goosebumps from the awesomeness from seeing the Enterprise for the first time for example, which greatly honoured the original series. J.J. Abrams' lens flares helped create more realism in a lot of the scenes despite the fact he often overuses of them.
The villain was very interesting and the development, dialogue and motivations of his character were very convincing and inventive, Cumberbatch's fantastic acting greatly helped bring this character to life. Also the way he executed his plan showed a lot more cutting edge creativity than especially most modern blockbusters, not to say it's done nearly to the same level of genius but something I haven't felt in a villain's characterisation/acting since The Dark Knight.
Overall, a mesmerising film with nice homages to the original series, one filled with heart, grace, innovation, superb characters and acting and some impressive, clever visuals and immersive 3D, one of the only times I can say that. Up there with the 2009 one, not sure which I prefer, possibly the previous one largely due to the more clever story, despite this one having a much better villain, still not sure though. Still a very strongly recommended film, may hit my top 100 simply because how much I was impressed by it. 9/10!
